Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between spread and commission?

Spreads are built into the instrument price — the difference between buy and sell prices. Commissions are separate charges per lot traded. Dynamic accounts have no commission (all costs in the spread). ECN accounts charge commission but offer tighter spreads.

Why do swaps exist?

Swaps reflect the cost of holding a leveraged position overnight. When you trade forex, you're borrowing one currency to buy another. The interest rate differential between the two currencies creates a swap charge or credit. For other instruments, swaps reflect the cost of carry (storage, financing, dividends).

Are there any hidden fees?

Can I avoid swap fees?

Swaps apply to all positions held overnight (past 00:00 server time, UTC+0). To avoid swaps, close your positions before rollover.

Do spreads change during news events?

Yes. Spreads widen during high volatility and low liquidity periods — major economic announcements, market open/close, geopolitical events. This is standard across all brokers and reflects real market conditions.
